Rideable Horses

Gypsy

Breed: American Paint Horse

Sex: Mare

Age: 10

Height: 14.1.~hh

Color: Chestnut Paint
Suitable for: Experienced Handler/Trainer

*has not been started under saddle*
Adoption Fee:  $1000

Gypsy is a Paint mare with a bright future ahead of her!

She arrived with small herd of family members and had spent her whole life on the farm she was born on.   The herd was very loved, but arrived needing some TLC and good equine life skills (which she is quickly picking up)

Gypsy is confident, curious, and wonderfully social, she loves interacting with people and exploring her surroundings.

While Gypsy hasn’t had much formal training yet, she’s full of potential!   She’ll need a home with previous experience starting a horse under saddle, or an experienced horse person working with a trainer.   In her time with us she has been started in a light training program and is learning the basics of lunging, groundwork, and good in-hand manners.

With her willing attitude and bold personality, Gypsy could shine in a variety of directions—she just needs someone to help her write the next chapter of her story.

Dolly-Sue

8/4/2025

Dolly Sue has made great progress learning good manners in-hand and confidence away from the herd as well as basic groundwork, tacking, mounting and riding.

While she can still be quite strong in-hand when she is anxious, setting firm boundaries along with positive reinforcement, consistency and setting her up for success has really helped her come a long way.

Dolly-Sue will walk/trot/canter on the lunge line, she does really well long lining, is great for grooming, fly spray, tacking and stands still at the mounting block for mounting.

At this time we have only ridden her in a rope halter but she will accept a bit. Dolly-Sue has had rides so far, she is very willing, relaxed and listens nicely to leg and rein, halts well and backs up. It seems like she may have had a history of riding in her past based on how well she accepts tack and a rider, if so it has likely been years since she was worked with and she is very green.

She stood like a champ for the farrier to get her shoes on while in her pasture and at this time does best for the farrier when she is able to stand by her pasture mate. She has mild navicular changes on x-ray and requires front shoes, and some mild hock arthritis,  films available.

iShe really is such a sweet, easy going mare in the pasture and where she is comfortable with her surroundings. Dolly-Sue is a great low drama pasture mate, comes right up to you and absolutely loves attention. She will be an amazing little riding horse with some training and guidance from an experienced horse person or trainer.

4/4/25 Dolly-Sue is up to date on all farrier and medical needs. She is incredibly social and is the first to meet you at the gate. At this time she would still require an advanced handler or trainer home as she would need extensive training with to learn proper manners and boundaries. That being said she is truly a lovely mare and would excel in any discipline with proper training and management.

12/13/24 Dolly-Sue is a sweet and spicy mare ready for the next chapter in her life! She has not had any official training but we are looking forward to seeing what this girl knows! She is not broke to ride and at this time would require an advanced handler with training experience or a trainer. Stay tuned as we get her vet and farrier care up to date and start evaluating her training needs!

5/26/25 - Update, Kusama is now with a foster trainer, stay tuned for updates

**We know she looks like every little girl's dream horse! Due to a number of inquiries we have received about her, we must emphasize: Kusama is not a kid's pony!**

Kusama is a sweet and kind mare. She is shy and cautious but very eager to learn. She came from one of our partner rescues down south. In her earlier years, she was a feral horse and part of a free roaming herd. She will be a fun project for someone looking for a challenge as a training project.

She has had many hours of ground work but would do best in a calmer setting and daily one on one attention. She will continue light training while she is here but she is hoping to meet her perfect match to help her succeed.

Kusama is not broke to ride yet, but enjoys grooming and attention. She is up to date on her vet/dental and farrier care.

If you think you might be a good match for Kusama's future, please fill out an adoption application!

*She needs a handler/trainer experienced with flighty and nervous horses*

Pippin

Breed: Rocky Mountain Cross

Sex: Gelding

Age: 16

Height: 13.3hh

Color: Dark Bay
Suitable for: Experienced Horseperson/Trainer
Adoption Fee:  $1,250

We are still getting to know this guy and don’t have too much to share yet, what we will say is that Pippin has proven himself to be a sweet and well-mannered little guy. He is gaited and we suspect he is a least partially Rocky Mountain. He has a kind heart, and a great personality, and has quickly become a farm favorite. He can be a little shy at first but once he gets to know you, he will follow you anywhere.

Upon initial evaluation, Pippin has shown us good manners for leading, handling, grooming, and wearing tack, as well as standing great for the vet and farrier. He can be nervous in new situations and takes a few minutes to adjust, so he would require a confident handler who can help him work through his fear. We expect this to improve in time as he has already taken massive steps in his training.

Overall, Pippin is an incredibly sweet pony and shows us more of his personality each day, he has the potential to be a lovely light riding horse with an experienced horseperson who can show him the love he deserves.

Sully

Breed: Grade

Sex: Gelding

Age: 6

Height: 13.3hh

Color: Chestnut
Suitable for: Experienced Trainer-
**Sully is not yet under saddle**
Adoption Fee:
  $600

Sully is seeking a soul mate, someone kind, confident, and patient who will take the time to help him develop into a confident equine citizen.

He has a stocky build, of indeterminate breed and has not shown to be gaited. Less than a year ago, Sully was a feral stallion rounded up from the strip mine herds in Kentucky. No longer feral, he still lacks confidence, and is typically the bottom of the herd of geldings he's pastured with. He hasn't displayed any stud-like behavior or interest in nearby mares. He can be stalled or live outside 24/7 with shelter.

He can be very fearful at times, and can freeze/bolt unexpectedly, but at the same time, is also willing to trust his handler in all kinds of new situations, including obstacle courses- he just may momentarily freak out. He does best when his handlers carries on as if nothing has happened.

He lunges, ties, and accepts tack, is comfortable but we are continuing to build confidence on the ground before starting under saddle work.   He stands for the farrier.

He has a quality about him that draws you in, and makes you stay just a bit longer for a few extra scratches. He would thrive in a one on one relationship with a partner.

Sully will need someone experienced with fearful horses, calm and confident themselves, and willing to take the time it takes to develop this kind and sweet gelding!

You * MUST* have training experience with horses likely Sully to be a good fit

Adopt Me!

Titan

Breed: Thoroughbred

Sex: Gelding

Age: 12

Height: 16.2hh

Color: Dark Bay
Suitable for: Intermediate Rider, Experienced Handler
Adoption Fee:  $750

Titan is a lovely horse and is a great riding companion and does best in a quiet home with consistent handling, for this reason we would consider a foster situation for the adopter to get to know the horse in the comfort of their own home.

Mr. tall dark & handsome! He has a loving personality and is very social, eye-catching guy fancy floaty gaits. He would excel as a lower-level dressage horse in a flatwork only home, due to prior healed injuries. We haven't had him out of the outdoor arena yet but his adopter could teach him to be a trail horse.  Under saddle he learning the basics of collection and flexion, and building a lovely free walk and stretchy trot, his natural movement is floaty with impulsion (IE its a BIG trot not suited to a rider without a good balance and its best posted vs sat.  He is working developing a balanced canter. He is a fun and confident dude under saddle and takes care of his rider.

Currently pastured with a herd of geldings, outside 24/7.  He has been with mares in the past

Titan has a big personality and can be known to bolt in stressful situations, so he would require an advanced handler, he does typically give advanced warning that he is about to exit the situation, and time for redirection.

He is currently barefoot, but may need shoes for consistent riding. Titan’s ideal adopter would be a rider that enjoys riding in good weather, and chooses to pass on windy, or frigid days! He is truly a fantastic horse with a loving personality who is ready to find his forever home!
