Coco (Talarosa Sweetheart)
Breed: Quarter Horse
Sex: Mare
DOB: 1/31/2006
Height: 15.1 hh
Color: Chestnut
Suitable For: Trail Horse, Confident Beginner/Intermediate Rider
Adoption Fee: $2,000
Coco is a sweet 20-year-old Quarter Horse mare with a lifetime of trail experience and countless miles behind her. Coming from a loving home prior to arriving with us, she has proven herself to be a seasoned trail horse both around our farm and on off-site group rides. She recently hauled out for a large group trail ride and did very well, though she was happiest near the front of the pack.
If Coco had her way, she'd spend the rest of her riding career out on the trails. She isn't much interested in arena work and would much rather be out exploring the world. She is comfortable for trail riding and light walk/trot rides.
Coco is also a favorite among our volunteer groom team and loves attention and being pampered. As a senior mare, she requires maintenance and shoes to stay comfortable, but she has a wealth of experience to offer the right person.
Coco is looking for a home that values a kind, experienced trail partner and all the miles and memories she still has left to share.
Cody
Breed: Morgan
Sex: Gelding
Age: DOB 5/14/2017
Height: 14.2hh
Color: Chestnut
Adoption Fee: $3000
Meet Cody — a super cute 9-year-old registered Morgan gelding standing 14.2 hands high with a sweet personality and a great foundation for the right home.
Cody is easy to catch, enjoys attention, and has excellent ground manners. He is good for the vet and farrier, leads politely, trailers well, stalls quietly, and happily lives outside in a herd of geldings. He has a solid groundwork foundation and is currently lunging at the walk and trot with a developing canter
Under saddle, Cody is still green but progressing nicely. He is showing a soft, willing walk and trot and is learning contact, flexion, steering, and moving off leg aids. He has also been on a short trail ride with another horse and handled it very well.
Because Cody is still earlyish in riding career he is not suitable for a beginner rider or an inexperienced home. He will require an experienced trainer or confident horse person with a background in developing green horses so he can continue progressing successfully and safely.
Cody has the potential to become a wonderful trail and pleasure horse for someone willing to continue his education and build his confidence. We just adore this gelding, and think you will too!
Corbin
Breed: Grade
Sex: Gelding
Age: DOB 4/10/25
Height: 13.1 (6/26) Should finish large pony, small horse size
Color: Flashy Chestnut
Suitable for: Adopter must have experience raising/ training young horses
Adoption Fee: $1000
Corbin was born on our farm, his mother Serendipity (Seren) arrived pregnant, recently gathered from a free roaming herd - more information about their history can be found here
https://www.kyhumane.org/equine/free-roaming-horses
Corbin is a colt with a bold personality and a solid start to life. He can be caught, leads, and is learning to stand for the farrier. His mother—is a beautiful mare with floaty movement—and Corbin is expected to grow into a sturdy, well-built horse.
Corbin himself is stunning—a chestnut with lots of chrome, floaty movement, and a fancy look that’s sure to turn heads. He’s spunky, curious, and a bit sassy, so he’ll need an experienced trainer familiar with starting foals to guide him as he matures. With the right support, Corbin has the potential to become a great partner.
If you're ready to bring along a young colt with a good foundation, eye-catching looks, and a bright future, Corbin might be the one for you.
Emerald
Breed: Belgian Draft
Sex: Mare
DOB: 2003
Color: Chestnut
Height: 17.3 hh
Adoption Fee: $750
Emerald is a Belgian mare looking for a draft-savvy home.
She lives well with other mares and can be stalled, but she is much happier living outdoors with room to move.
She would make a lovely trail horse, will likely follow nose to tail easily and needs encouragement to move forward on her own. She loves grooming and scratches as well as her people.
She arrived at Horses Haven underweight and under-muscled, with untreated cushings. Since then she has gained weight and muscle and is doing well on 2 tablets Prascend/daily and is ready for her forever home!
*Emerald requires a home with stocks (non-negotiable) and currently needs sedation for farrier work.*
Fairytale
Breed: Thoroughbred
Sex: Mare
DOB: 3/2/2020
Color: Bay
Height: 15.2
Adoption Fee: $1500
Fairy Tale was lightly started in her previous home, and was reportedly a walk/ trot, but hadn't been ridden in over a year so will need a refresh/ restart under saddle.
In our training time with her, we've observed she has a solid understanding of pressure on the ground, lunges & leads well, joins up with handler in the round pen.
Enjoys a good grooming and has good in hand manners. She requires shoes to be comfortable as she has very thin soles (films available) We've backed her a once since arrival but only at walk (as of 6/19) We will update as we work with her more, but she's available now to a rider/ trainer capable of working with green horses
Finnegan - Adoption Pending!
Breed: Standardbred/ Mustang grade
Sex: Gelding
Age: DOB 4/26/24
Height: Currently 13.3 and growing (likely medium pony sized )
Color: Flashy Roan
Suitable for: Ideal adopter should have experience raising/ training young horses- or have trainer support
Adoption Fee: $1500
Flashy, goofy, laid back, and always looking for something to carry off, Finnegan is the definition of a fun young horse. Whether it’s the lead rope, something hanging on the wall, or an item left on the ground, this boy loves to investigate and keep himself entertained. He adores scratches and is an all around good boy!
Born in April 2024, this handsome Standardbred/Mustang cross is currently standing around 13.3 hands and continues to grow and mature. Finnegan is very much a “go with the flow” type — more whoa than go — and takes new experiences in stride. He attended his first show last fall where he quietly soaked everything in, and he has also been hand-walked on local trails with the same calm and easygoing attitude
.Finnegan walks and trots nicely on the lunge line and has started cantering, though he still needs strength and encouragement to maintain forward motion as he builds muscle and confidence. He knows basic showmanship, ties well on the wall or cross ties, stands nicely for the farrier, and picks up all four feet. He is comfortable being handled during everyday farm chores — you can lead him out while carrying a wheelbarrow or dragging a hose and he barely bats an eye
Finnegan was born on our farm 4/26/24, his mother Katie arrived pregnant (search our Facebook page for lots of baby pictures). Finnegan was adopted in the fall of 2024, has had a wonderful start in life, but his adopter has made the difficult decision to rehome him.

Guinness
Breed: Quarter Horse
Sex: Gelding
DOB: 2/24/2016
Color: Seal Brown
Height: 15 hh
Adoption Fee: $2500
Guinness is a stunning, Quarter Horse gelding with a sweet, laid-back personality.
He had professional training to start him under saddle a couple years ago and was ridden occasionally but has not been ridden for the past year. Since arriving, we have been refreshing his groundwork and restarting him under saddle (as of 6/18/26 weve ridden him twice in the round pen)
He is very green but willing and has great potential with continued training. Guinness stands quietly for grooming, tacking, and mounting, accepts tack and a rider without issue, and lunges well at the walk, trot, and canter in both directions.
He is improving with the farrier and gets better each time. He is independent, easygoing, and has no problem coming up to the barn by himself.
Guinness is looking for an experienced home that will continue his education and help him reach his full potential.
Kalli- ADOPTED!
Breed: Arabian
Sex: Mare
DOB: 5/7/2017
Height: 15 hh
Color: Chestnut
Suitable for: Experienced Home (intermediate/advanced rider) or Trainer
Adoption Fee: $3,500
Kalli is the sweetest and smartest Arabian mare you will ever meet. She is kind and beautiful and is looking for her new home as a project horse. She has lovely floaty gaits, she is curious and is learning to be confident in her training. With continued training she has the potential to excel in a variety of disciplines but particularly dressage, endurance, or trail. At 9 years old Kalli is still learning, but has a solid foundation in training, she is learning good manners and groundwork skills. She was under saddle when she arrived, while with us, she has had a number of rides under saddle, working walk, trot and developing canter. Kalli is learning to carry herself and move correctly, and to not work in overcollection, so she would need a home knowledgeable in helping a horse carry a proper headset, stretch out, and have self carriage, and to not work in hyperflexion.
Kallie is currently showing intro-level dressage tests and recently scored a 66.88 on Intro A, earning herself 4th place!
She is also learning to be confident on the trails, and has been ridden out with another horse.
Areas of improvement: Kalli is working on standing calmy for haltering, bridling, tacking, walking through gates and stalls, and being turned out in the pasture. She is making great progress but still needs a calm and confident handler with experience re-starting sensitive horses.
This lovely little mare will capture the heart of anyone who puts the time into training her, she is kind and expressive and would make a great partner for someone who appreciates a mare with personality.
Thank you megansmits.com for the photos!

Lani
Breed: Grade
Sex: Mare
Age: 15
Height: 14.0hh
Color: Palomino Pinto
Adoption Fee: $1500
Lani is an adorable 15-year-old cob-type, gaited palomino paint mare ready for her next chapter. She is developing into a solid trail horse and continues to gain confidence and experience. Lani crosses bridges, logs, and tunnels with confidence and can ride out alone or in a group. She naturally has a big, quick gaited walk and likes to move out, so she does best with a confident rider who is comfortable with a forward horse.
On the trail, Lani is willing and dependable, though she still benefits from an experienced rider for guidance and consistency. Most of her future training needs are in the arena rather than on the trail.
Lani is naturally gaited but has not had extensive education in proper self-carriage and balance. She is strongly pacey, but offers a nice trot. She has the potential, with proper training, to learn to gait well. She would benefit from a knowledgeable rider who can help her develop correct contact, stretch over her topline, and learn to carry herself properly while using her natural gait. Lani is happier in a bitless less. She is still learning how to use her body effectively and would thrive with someone who values correct flatwork and continued education.
Lani has excellent ground manners. She lunges, ties, stands quietly at the mounting block, leads calmly, and is well behaved for both the veterinarian and farrier. She currently requires shoes to remain sound as a riding horse. In addition to this, if in regular work, Lani would benefit from hock maintenace.
Lani is best suited for a confident, experienced rider who can continue her education and help her build strength, balance, and trust. She would thrive in a home that appreciates a forward, willing mare with a fun and spunky personality.
Levi
Breed: Grade
Sex: Gelding
DOB: 2021
Height: ~14.3hh
Color: Black and White Pinto
Suitable for: Advanced, Experienced handler/Trainer
Adoption Fee: $500
Levi is a striking black and white pinto gelding looking for the right person to take on a rewarding project. He has had a limited start in life and is currently guarded, fearful, and reactive around people.
Levi is in a training program and is just beginning to learn the basics, including being caught, leading, and accepting human touch. He has no prior training, and all handling skills are new to him. He is currently learning round pen work, lunging, and grooming.
Levi will require an advanced, experienced handler/trainer with experience working with unhandled and fearful horses. He is not a beginner horse and will need patience, consistency, and confident handling.

Mia
Breed: Gypsy Vanner / Quarter Horse Cross
Sex: Mare
DOB: 5/1/2015
Color: Black and White Pinto
Adoption Fee:
$4000
Mia is a beautiful Gypsy Vanner/Quarter Horse cross with a bright future ahead of her. She is seeking an experienced, patient home committed to continuing her education and helping her reach her full potential.
Mia is green broke and in the early stages of her riding career. She has had a handful of rides under saddle in a round pen with support from a ground person and is currently learning the basics of steering, moving off leg pressure, and halting. She has recently progressed to trotting under saddle without a ground person and is showing amazing potential. She will need an experienced trainer or horse person who is comfortable bringing along green horses and can provide the consistency and confidence-building she needs to succeed.
On the ground, Mia is still developing her manners and foundational skills. She is learning to lead politely and can occasionally take extra encouragement to come into the barn. She can be pushy and reactive at times, so she benefits from clear boundaries, consistent handling, and confident leadership.
While Mia is making excellent progress, she still has significant training needs. She will thrive in an experienced adult home that can continue building her skills and confidence. At this stage, she is not suitable as a children's horse, lesson horse, show horse, or partner for novice riders.
Despite her training needs, Mia is highly intelligent, people-oriented, and genuinely enjoys interacting with her handlers. Under saddle, she is already beginning to demonstrate lovely movement. With continued training, she has the potential to excel in working equitation, western disciplines, trail riding, or dressage.
Mia does best in a herd with a strong, confident lead mare who can teach her manners.
Mia requires only light management for insulin resistance.

Height: 15.0 hh
Color: Dark Bay
Adoption Fee: $500
Suitable: Advanced horseperson
Sicily is a registered Saddlebred mare with an unknown training history who is currently making steady progress in a structured training program with daily handling.
