Horses' Haven

about

What We Do

Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, retrain and re-home at risk equines (horses, ponies, donkeys and mules).  We assist law enforcement agencies and accept surrendered horses from owners displaying a clear need for help (we are not a retirement facility).  Our goal is to find every horse in our care a forever home through adoption.  This is accomplished through medical rehabilitation and training to ensure each horse, rideable or not, has the skills needed to be a good equine citizen.

Who We Are

The Board of Directors consists of compassionate and dedicated people  who are committed to carrying out Horses' Haven's mission. Each has the vision to see that it is possible for all animals to be given another chance.

Our History

Founded in 1995 by Barbara Baker, Horses’ Haven is a 501(c)3 non-profit located in Howell, Michigan. It is currently led by our Board of Directors consisting of compassionate and dedicated people who are committed to carrying out Horses’ Havens mission.

The heart and soul of Horses’ Haven is our volunteer base. Our volunteers give in time, labor and love through 2 shifts a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.  Join a shift and become part of our “farm-ily”!

Contact us to tour the farm, meet our residents, and find out how you can help or make a donation to support caring for these special animals.
