 
Spirit is one of the horses obtained at the auction several years ago for our Bring a Horse Home for Christmas. She is a 20 year old chestnut Quarter Horse who was a rack of bones when she came. I heard she didn't even have a name on the paperwork that came with her from the auction, just a number where her name should have been. Geez, that must have been hard having no identity. Makes me feel kind of sad for her, but her luck must have improved or she wouldn't be here at Horses' Haven. She's put on weight since she came and is looking very healthy and happy now. She didn't trust people very much when she came in and is still very protective of her food (who'd blame her). She is starting to understand people can be good because all of our great volunteers have been taking extra special care of her, petting her and talking to her. Spirit is looking for a new home with people of her own to love her and understand her food issues.
